You did a very good job here. You're an excellent outdoor photographer, but you've adapted to the studio setup wonderfully. It's nice when you can do your own lighting, isn't it?

To me, she has the look of some sort of pagan goddess. Beautiful, but also somewhat inhuman & intimidating. Has a very epic look. Must be the hair.

This is quite an interesting different photo to come from you. When I see this, I can easily see it on a top shelf photography magazine, or on some large format advertising poster in the city.

It has that technical sharpness, and almost "corporate" look int it's professionalism, but has that artist creativity which is an absolute must to get such a reaction. That and it mixes the "corporate" "traditional modern" feel with the alternative unique look which is your touch.

Well done Kim :)

 You seem to have a knack at making the tough stuff look easy!! I hope that our chat was useful, but I predict you would have figured it out yourself - based on the shots, no issues there!!

Bare strobes though?? Wow, amazing the results you get just by purely experimenting!! For your style of shooting, grids are your friend...

Well done, you're posting some amazing stuff!! :D

Always knew Hanna was gorgeous, but these last few show a very different light and she looks even better, if that is possible :D

Another piece of excellent work by the two of you :)

Now, am I ever getting my lights back ? :)

Be very careful how you answer that :D

Now we're talking. Might I ask whether it was a grid light or a diffused light?
Reply
:iconkimberleycamilleri:
KimberleyCamilleri Featured By Owner Sep 25, 2008
neither, alot of playing around with 2 alien bees strobes, it was all about the placement.
unfortunately I havent gotten to play with grids and gels yet.

we didnt have soft boxes or diffusers either, and it was just turned down quite low and placed well.

Oi, sweetcheeks, that's what the WHITE umbrella is for :)

Small, round, softbox :D

:iconkimberleycamilleri:

we used it as a soft reflector.
and the silver for a more harsh one, but i dont think i like umbrellas, i prefered just using the strobes.
i did use the silver alot though.

Ummm, the white one is a "shout through" umbrella and will give similar results a soft box.

A soft box just covers a bigger area :)
